"Hey! It’s Vlad Mikeev from Radio Tiger. So, here’s a fun twist — Alex Imix and I decided to swap birthday mixes this year. His mix is already live on the Radio Tiger, and mine just dropped on Bangkok Community Radio.

The mix kinda came together after I left my keys at a bar  and had to wander around the sleeping Moscow for 8 hours.. It’s a soundtrack to those classic stages of acceptance we all go through sooner or later.

There’s a little Easter egg hidden in the mix — right after the track “Noch” by the Dagestan funk band “Neet, ty chto.” That voice you hear? It’s Rasul Makhaliev, one of the band members, reading his early poems live on my radio show.

"So this is it. here comes the final episode of The Russian Roulette on Bangkok Community Radio. I've decided to wrap up my residency because, you know, everything has to end sometime, right? But like they say, every ending is just a new beginning.
The first episode dropped on September 25th, 2021. That's over four years, or 1,551 calendar days ago, to be exact. Since then, we've shared so much incredible music and had some really cool guests. What a ride.

Huge love to the Bangkok Community Radio crew. Watching them grow this platform into something that pushes music and culture across Southeast Asia and beyond has been amazing. Their work is a true labor of love and enthusiasm that deserves recognition.

To everyone who tuned in and supported me - I want to say thank you, I truly appreciate your effort in this age of short attention span. All the episodes (around 50 of them) will still be up on BCR's SoundCloud, and I've put most of them in a playlist on my SoundCloud page too. There's music for every mood in there, so feel free to dive back in anytime.

Vlad runs his independent music community @radio_tiger, based in Moscow, which brings together interesting DJs and musicians from all walks of life. The project also has a regular show on FM radio station ""Silver Rain."" 

As Vlad describes it, this particular mix invites you to feel the magic of everyday city life - imagine walking through the city and, instead of heading to a boring meeting, deciding to turn into a park for a lonely stroll. Alex Imix brought a trully special guest for the first episode of The Russian Roulette show in 2023 - deeply prolific Bristol-based house connoisseur Andy Compton. 

He has released over 45 albums and over 200 EPs (either under his own name or as part of his legendary group The Rurals, COMPTON or L.A.M.P, Blue Dream) on his essential Peng label and imprints like Motown, Universal, EMI, Sony, Ralf GUM’s GOGO Music, Chicago’s LARGE Music, Seasons, Viva, Hed Kandi and many others.

South Africa has embraced Andy's deep house sounds, and because of his popularity over there, and albums released via EMI, SONY, WEA, and now Universal. He has done over 20 South African tours in the past 10 years.
Since discovering house music in the early ‘90s Compton has released a dazzling array of music and worked with an army of artists. He’s been featured on the cover of the seminal DJ Magazine and had his music used in TV show Six Feet Under, while tunes like “Sweeter Sounds” have become bona fide anthems at spots like NY’s Shelter. He has worked with top class vocalists Celestine, Marie Tweek, Diviniti, Kafele, Rowan, Ladybird, Sabrina Chyld and many others!
