Seven Bells Knocking w/ DZ & TS Kahuna - 6th November 2022

Our guest for November's edition is TS Kahuna! He is an Italian selector based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Founder of Spazio Aperto, a radio project aiming to bridge different points in the electronic music universe and unveil emergent artists latent music flavours, he strives for his music not to be constrained by genres limitations and fall into boxes. His broad interest in electronic music from different times and places is reflected in his polyhedric and mutable sets, which not only often span multiple genres, but also moods and tempos. From ambient, downtempo and UK tinged IDM to pounding breaky techno and footwork, passing through colourful trance and polyrhythmic oddities. An attentive hear will recognize the recurrence of some elements throughout his sets: complex and atypical rhytmic compositions, mind-bending synth lines and the occasional tongue-in-cheek edits. 1st Hour - DZ 2nd Hour - TS Kahuna His words about the mix: While winter is definitely not my favourite season, I must say it’s definitely the period of the year I find most inspiring in music. Sun-kissed parties come to an end and Copenhagen slowly falls into a dark, cold numbness. Here is where my most introspective, cerebral music side rises. This mix was supposed to be one of those winter-like sets: infused with organic dub-techno meditations and spacey oddities, yet it turned out to be something slightly more complex. Like the sunny day turning into a foggy evening when I recorded it (and like the recent period of my life which has seen quite some emotional turmoil), it showcases some different colours from my sound palette. Darker tinged tones leave space to some euphoric percussion driven moments, flowing constantly up un down in tempo only to find some steadiness towards the end. I sure enjoyed doing this one a lot, hope you like it too!"
