This month, Tam Bryce welcomes along Jazzysad...

Jazzysad is a DJ and producer from the city of Subotica, Serbia. One of the pioneers of
electro swing, nu jazz and electro tango sounds in the Balkans. He creates under the
influence of 70s soul and jazz music. Lately, he is focused on performing with the band
Jazzysad Combo and promotion of Balkan jazz releases.

The artist behind the stage name is professionally both a Sound Engineer and Fashion
Designer. His competence is what led him to become a lead manager of the Midnight
Jazzdance Stage at Nisville Jazz Festival. In 2008, he signed with Levi Strauss & Co. as
an official music associate for Balkans. From 2021, he works with Ableton and Serato
Studio as a sound engineer.

Jazzysad is an outgoing and experienced Radio Presenter with over five year
experience of hosting his radio shows on four continents. Famous for his vibrant
personality and captivating radio shows with a passion for giving listeners an enjoyable
and engaging experience. In his radio shows he combines jazz - funk, modal, latin and
acid jazz tracks from his music collection and promotes Balkan jazz releases across the
world, with radio shows broadcasting in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, North
Macedonia, Montenegro and Croatia. In addition, Jazzysad continues to promote his
refined music taste across the world, at the moment in the USA, Australia and Africa.
Jazzysad is a first South Eastern European DJ to host his radio show in Japan, USA and
Africa is the first Serbian jazz performer hired by a Japanese music publishing
company.

Tam welcomes his second guest of the month, Kaztet D, who will be bringing us the sound of Caribbean and beyond. Expect lots of synth heavy Afro-funk from the master of Saigon feel-good sunshine.

Kaztet D ( aka GHD Beats, aka Kazdi Koba / Fr) is a Selecta, MC, Producer and promoter from france, partly raised in Asia, mostly specialised in the underground side of tropical music ( from Reggae and Afro caribean music to Disco and House music ), based in south east Asia  for about 10 years ( Saigon / Vietnam ).
After more than 10 years performing as a MC in Reggae bands, Sound systems and collectives in Europe ( R2G, Massawa sound, Lootayard ), Kaztet  moved back to Asia in 2013 where he's been mostly DJing, playing in countless venues and being residents in bars and clubs since then ( The Lighthouse, Broma, PiuPiu, Indika Saigon, Slur Bar...)  as well touring with or hosting artists in south east Asia ( Sister Nancy, Tippa Irie, Soom T, Macky Banton, DJ Craze, Steppa Style, Reggae Rajahs, Delhi Sultanate & Begum X, Dakta Dub....) and performing in and organising festivals in Vietnam ( Quest, Vibe Nation Beach Fest, Saigon Reggae Festival, An Bang reggae beach fest, Sunbeats, Coracle festival, Secret Week end... ), Cambodia ( Phnom Penh Reggae Festival , 420 festival, Wave electronic music Festival, Golden Street Party, Sunbodia ),  India ( Goa Sunsplash, Asia HipHop Festival..) and Lebanon ( Kulcha Reggae festival )  with his crews  WAT A GWAAN ( Cambodia/Lebanon ) and BANANA HUSTLE ( Vietnam ) or through long collaborations with Saigon Dub Station , Reggae Rajahs, Asia hipHop Festival and more...
Back in europe for a bit in 2021, Kaztet has been focusing on the production side ( finally ), while co-building a Label called KACTUS KORAÏ with his 20 years music partner Puppa Elpee, which purpose is to release a wide variety of styles, mostly at the meeting point  beetween Tropical vibe, Dancefloor beats, Tribal rhythms, Urban flows, Psychedelic sounds and more ...
Now back in Saigon, you can find him play in various bars and clubs in the city, as well as a new collaboration with Delight HiFi ... To be continued !

"For this months edition, I'm delighted to be welcoming Liquorish Records, label boss man, and redlight radio regular, along for his first show on the BCR airwaves. The second hour of this mix was recorded at his listening bar in Chiang Mai, with the first hour recorded by yours truly at More Rice record store - both mixes coming from our own vinyl collections.

Liquorish Records: I'm blessed to be asked by Tam to deliver a mix for his show. I haven't recorded a mix since covid hit the music scene. After Red Light radio closed, I had no outlet no more and Me and my partner focussed on opening our beloved listening bar in Chiang Mai ; Deaf Shop. So its an honor and a treat to get back on the digital airwaves.

This recording is called the Mix Up Cup ( based on the song included in this mix). It's a concentrated musical journey through styles that you can expect hearing on a night at the Deaf Shop (amongst many other genres). This mix is focussed on world grooves and world club music. For this months edition, Tam was welcomed to the notorious tattoo studio & community space in Chiang Mai, @cnxpsysquare for a Friday night session.

Given the venue, this mix is a move away from what I usually play, with lots of kwaito and some classics in there, with a bit of cheese in the mix for good measure (:

I was delighted to welcome the Love Sound System lads all the way from Milan for the latest iteration of the Nice To Meet You show...

Love Sound System are an Italian DJ duo formed by Roberto and Riccardo and this is our “Love Manifesto”.

Long-time friends and DJs with over a decade in the game, in 2022 we decided to share our musical project all-over the world based on the common passion for sounds from every corner of the Earth.

Vinyl collectors, rarities' selectors and real dancefloor lovers, during our sets we try to convey to the people the same emotions we feel listening to the music we love, such as eternal loving disco gems, rhythmic afro percussion, old school house vibes and downtempo balearic hits, mixing them together creating a warm romantic atmosphere (and also spicy ehehe).

During our love story we played in several important clubs of the Milanese scene and shared the booth with artists such as Dirty Channels, Phil Weeks, Joss Moog and many others.

For the first edition of 'Tam Bryce.... Nice To Meet You' of 2023, I'm thrilled to welcome Monstera Occulta, who has recorded this special mix for the BCR faithful, taking us on a waxy journey across her Universe...

Monstera Occulta (re)immersed herself in the music of the Maghreb and the Middle East, about ten years ago.
Each song is like a return to her origins, to the music she heard as a child.
Born of a Belgian mother and a Moroccan father, she grew up listening to Nass El Ghiwane and Oum Kalthoum.
Today, oscillating between the nostalgia of the great Lebanese singers such as Fairuz, the psychedelic sounds of Baba Zula and the disco of Bappi Lahiri, she shares her musical explorations with both novice and initiated ears.

For the latest instalment of the 'Nice to meet you' show, I was joined by fantastic Max Hammur for an hour of magic, with the first hour of the show recorded by myself, live at Psysquare Chiang Mai, and the second delivered by the Big Man himself...

Max Hammur, the Glasgow-based collector, selector, and dancer, has been making waves with his eclectic styled DJ sets. With a constant mixed bag of music sounds in his arsenal, MAX always has the right weapons to make the dancefloor explosive.

Starting his musical journey in his late teens through his family's electronic music obsession with help from his uncle's passion for 90s US house & UK techno. Then having the other side of the family tree creating an insight for more European psychedelic funk and italo. This unique blend of influences has shaped MAX into the interesting and dynamic character he is today.   Having honed his distinct sound, MAX effortlessly commands any crowd, seamlessly transitioning chill downtempo kwaito or high-energy zouk heat. His sets resonate inclusivity and cultural diversity, reflecting his deep-rooted fascination in global music and showcasing his ability to weave these influences into his performances.   

As well as this he runs club night residencies at some of the most successful venues within Glasgow city. One being the Aye Heavy residency @ Broadcast, this has been ongoing for 5 years with them booking Poly-Ritmo, Bonnefooi, Discotheque Tropicale, Hand-Made, Vandorta and others! The other is Mándalo which means to “send it” in Spanish. This party @ Nice N’ Sleazy has been active for 4 years now, booking local heroes such as Melting Pot, OOFT!, David Barbarossa & Joumana. Both nights have their own individual styles with Aye Heavy being focused on exploring different cultures styles of dance music and it involves hearing sounds around the world that you don’t hear anywhere else in Glasgow. Mándalo was set up as an “anything goes” policy with the night always being supplied with a total mixed bag of music.
 
MAX has been on lineups with some of the biggest names in the game with Optimo, DJ Poolboi, Minna and was invited to Ewan Macvicars first Pavilion Festival, with them also regularly performing at Kelburn Garden Party Festival, La Cheetah & Berkeley Suite. They’ve been fortunate enough to play all over Scotland, London, Switzerland & France and have had recent support with tracks they’ve made through Hunee, COEO, Eternal Love, Moving Still etc.

Hailing from UK / Ireland, & now residing in Cambodia, Mute Speaker has been releasing music for over 12 years, working both on his own productions & collaborative projects.

Working predominantly within the sphere of hip-hop, but incorporating many different styles & genres into his beats.

Mute Speaker draws from vintage soul & jazz, Asian, African, Caribbean, Central American & Arabic music, fuzzy psych rock, & dub - and his DJ sets can incorporate all of the above & more.

With his 17 years collection of rare Thai & South East Asian grooves & funk, African and Latin vinyl records. He’s been selecting world root music in some of the South East Asian’s coolest underground venues for years and now back in home ground, running 22 Nakhonnok Listening Bar in Songkhla Thailand and an online record store, Baa Records.
