DJ and a vinyl collector, based in Singapore, Itch’s musical journey is inspired by the Singapore and Nusantara region “local exotic funk a-go-go” music from the ’60s to ’80s, such as A-Go-Go, Hala-Hala, Malay Funk, Chinese Disco, Pop Yeh Yeh, Asian City Pop, and other groovy exotic Asian music. His vinyl DJ set specialises in Asian sound and introducing the forgotten local music gems to modern listeners, and brings back nostalgic vibes for old-timers. Itch has appeared in various events in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Taipei and Tokyo. Also, his mix was introduced in Singapore Community Radio, Mogra Radio, and Wordwide FM. Currently, Itch is a resident DJ at Offtrack, and his regular event “NIGHTCAP” introduces Asian City Pop and Boogie. Itch has been appeared in “Asian City Music Disc Guide” (Disk Union Japan), as a selector of Singapore and Malaysia music. And recently interviewed by the zine “Ayo Ke Disco: Boogie, Pop & Funk from the South China Sea (1974 - 88)” released from Soundway Records. In this 60mins mix, Itch brings you to the musical journey of 70s/80s South East Asian Funk, Disco, with some exotic sounds from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Enjoy the journey!
