Rooted in early R&B and house, Yohan’s listening habits, selection, and collection stretch wide—boogie, reggae, downtempo, even the odd ambient or rock record. His sets aren’t about chasing peaks, but about space—letting records breathe while shifting between tempos and styles with an ear for rhythm, atmosphere, and the odd curveball. Drawing from years of buying, selling, and trading records, he weaves together selections that blur the lines between the familiar, the fresh, and the off-kilter. Based in Kuala Lumpur, he is a resident DJ at Fono and regularly plays in low-lit rooms and tucked-away spaces where the crowd leans in more than they shout. While he favors longer, subtle journeys in these settings, he’s just as comfortable delivering a club set when the moment calls. Outside of DJing, Yohan works as a private record dealer and freelance graphic designer, roles that keep him close to both music and visual culture.
