BCR x SCR: Community Radio Collisions Vol.1: Bangkok

Independent Underground Radio in Asia has never been more important or in better health than in recent years, powering and supporting local communities during tough times and the good.

On 14th January, two of these crucial channels collided as Seoul Community Radio (SCR) and Bangkok Community Radio (BCR) hosted a special party at a Bangkok location showcasing DJs that represent the growing musical connections between Thailand and Korea. 

Hosted at one of the most beautiful rooftop locations in Bangkok, Paradise Lost, the event will be backed by serene sunsets and glorious cocktails. A venue that is renowned for creating a dynamic and amazing atmosphere, it fits perfectly to present some of the finest music and radios on offer throughout the region.

Kindergarchy is Amanda Rizkita’s attempt to translate her inner world into music. Her mixes and sets are often tinged with lush & atmospheric sounds, a sense of play, a lot of curiosity, and sometimes a quiet tension bubbling underneath.

You can spot her behind the deck at Strange Weather parties -which she co-instigated in Singapore- or on online radio platforms like Worldwide FM, Noods Radio, Norrm Radio, and more.

She probably wouldn’t be playing music today if it weren’t for the pandemic times where she finally got the time to sit down and finally start her little record collection. This first part of the mix is an homage to that time - the gentle movement of light, the slow passing of time, one day bleeding into the next. During the second part, the mix mutates into a quiet invitation to dance, although still nothing barely gets above a whisper.

"Chaiwat Aunchareon, also known as “Goddam,” started his music journey at a local record shop and later became a resident DJ at Entertainment Project BKK. He has a strong passion for techno, IDM, and ambient music, carving out his unique path in the electronic music scene.

Today, he came up with a completely different playlist: contemporary jazz, spiritual jazz, fusion jazz, etc. on a vinyl set. Most of the records are from ECM Records,an independent record label founded in 1969 with the motto “The most beautiful sound next to silence."

Which combines the musical styles of several ethnic groups from different culture across the globe with local and traditional Thai music influence.

KANEHBOS DJ Set incorporates the variety of genres in his vinyl collection, spinning an eclectic mixture of local Thai music such as lukthung, molam with soul, funk, psychedelic, rare groove and a wide variety of music from Asia, Middle east, Africa and all over the World with modern Electronics , resting comfortably on a solid traditional sounds & modern grooves. Being a true music lover, and a complete obsessive, as a DJ/selector KANEHBOS has opened minds around the world to music that wouldn’t otherwise get heard

bagvs is the moniker of Bagus Prayogo, DJ and electronic musician from Bandung, Indonesia. Music enthusiasts will always be his identity from the first place until he decided to deejay and make electronic music. Devoted to his local scene with releases via 630 Recordings and held local and international radio show residencies via Norrm Radio (Bandung,Indonesia) and Noods Radio (Bristol, England), He quickly established himself to the axis of local subterranean club culture. 

This set he provided 2 hours journey of blissful hypnotic melodies, tech-step and tripped-out euphoria mind-dance with a bit of surprises.
